I always write to music as it sets the perfect tone. When I need some pounding action, I pull out the fastest and hardest songs on my iPad and rock out.
ReplyDeleteMe too Alex! Love writing those scenes. :)
DeleteThanks again for having me Jess! :D
ReplyDeleteTotally adding those soundtracks to my list! I'm a total soundtrack junkie, hooked on: The Mortal Instruments, 42, Lord of the Rings, Lemony Snicket, A Beautiful Mind, The Social Network, the Trent Reznor track from Call of Duty and generally anything Trent writes, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Green Mile, Donnie Darko, Divergent, and Crash. Did I mention I'm a junkie? LOL
ReplyDeletelol Jen, I hear ya! Those are some great ones. Some I've never heard. have to try them out. I love Trent too. <3
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
That's a great idea! Using music to elicit a certain mood. I usually prefer quiet when I write, but I can see how this would work. Especially for a rough draft--let it be raw and emotional and then tidy it up later when you turn off the tunes. :)
ReplyDeleteI always listen to music but only to block out the world, it doesn't really matter what the music is. In fact the more bland the better. If the song is too emotive it tends to distract me.
