I hate clothes.

I don't like to wear clothes. Ever since I began working at home and have accumulated at least a weeks worth of jersey clothing to wear over and over ... and over again, I don't like to get dressed. Jersey, or some soft equivalent is all I wear in the house. It's comfortable, soft, and it hardly feels like I'm wearing any clothes at all. Because, I hate clothes.
I hate when things are too tight and feel like they're cutting into my skin. I hate when things are scratchy and make me itch. I hate when things are stiff and I can't bend my limbs without hearing my clothes shift. I hate when its winter and I have to wear a million layers to keep warm and it makes my body feel weighed down.
Also, if I could spend my life in a loose summer dress, in winter temperatures, I'd be a happy girl. Oh, did I mention I don't like summer much either, but love summer clothes? Bad luck for me, I guess. See, jersey has turned me into an eccentric. Embarrassing. But at least online it's entertaining, right?

I hate jeans, turtleneck sweaters, tights, stockings. I hate clothes. I hate getting dressed. Um ... any chance I could just spend my life naked and free? Hart? Got any ideas?
So, do you like clothes?

Have a great weekend everyone. See ya on Monday!

  2. Clothes are rather annoying, and I have never understood why so many people seem obsessed by them and other accessories. However, I am not sure I would want to see a bunch of ugly, hairy men running around naked either!

  3. Welcome to my world! Though I like summer... I could be very content naked on a tropical island, but it sounds like what you need is a temperate zone--probably not quite as cold as England, as that is still cold enough to require clothing, but I can offer up Eugene Oregon as an option... pretty comfortable to run around Naked there except November - January (when it's raining and only about 45F.

It is the binding that drives me nutsest.... (and if I MUST wear clothes, the best are dresses with no waistline... I had a couple maternity dresses I was very loath to give up because they were so comfy... But dresses in WINTER require TIGHTS and tights are the WORST! Binding, sliding down, a pain to pull up again every time you use the loo--MAN I hate tights.

  4. I hate clothes in theory, like, thinking about how itchy they can be and whatnot but unfortunately it is wayy to cold both inside my flat and outside for me to not wear them.

And somehow I like being warm more than I dislike annoying clothing so I always wear lots and lots.

    :)

  5. Comfort is the key word in clothing. If it's not comfortable, it doesn't go in my closet.

  6. For some reason I'm reminded of Michael Douglas in Wonder Boys, in his tattered pink bathrobe...

So much less cool than my, um, stylish old sweatpants. Yeah.

  7. I'm convinced nakedness is taking over the world!
I like loose, soft clothing. Hate clothes shopping, though. I never like anything in style.

  8. I hate to admit I'm the same way now! I throw on other clothes to go out in public and "make appearances" heh heh, but as soon as I step foot inside my house, my comfy clothes go back on *sigh*

  9. I hate clothes, and I hate winter.

I love summer dresses, and I love summer. I've come to the conclusion that I just need to move somewhere where it is summer all the time. ;)

  10. You said "stiff" and "I don't like clothes" in the same post. Hee, hee hee.

I don't care about clothes too much, but I like shoes.

  11. I like clothes just fine. What I can't stand are tennis shoes and socks. I hate having sweaty feet, I so prefer being barefoot.

  12. I'm with Angela Felsted. I like clothes for the most part, although I prefer pajama shorts and a t-shirt the best, but I hate shoes and socks. I love being barefoot, but when it's cold, you can't do that as well. Plus, people have those silly things like "no shirt, no shoes, no service." At least you don't have to wear pants there! ;)

Summer really is the best time for clothes. They are light and comfortable. :)

  13. I don't like restricting clothing, but I don't like being naked either (well, sometimes obviously I do, but that's not a topic for blog discussion).

I detest skirts/dresses and only wear them when fancy ocassions dictate I must.

But I love fluffy, soft, silky clothes. Give me a pair of jeans and a cashmere sweater and I'm in Heaven.

  14. Um, yeah, I like clothes, but only comfy, non-fussy ones. Doesn't really go with the day job, tho. Gotta look presentable and put together. Geesh. ;)

  15. I like comfort when it comes to clothing. Reading through the comments I wonder if it is common among writers. It would make sense.

  16. I'm completely with you and I hate shoes too. Give me some compfy slippers.

  17. You sound just like my husband! He hates to wear clothes.

I, however, am something of a clothes-horse. I don't like to wear the same outfit twice, so I get really creative with my wardrobe. Sometimes, too creative, my husband would probably say. I do love a simply, flowy summer dress, though!

  18. Haha I love the picture at the beginning. So many different meanings... so worth hopping over.

I don't mind wearing clothes. It doesn't bother me all that much. I prefer to wear socks at all times. I'm with you on the loose fitting clothing (especially when at home). However I do like some fitted tees best when out and about and wanting to feel a little more sexy... silly, maybe but I like it!

  19. Clothes are so overrated! My big hate: BRAS!!! Burn them all. Thanks for the great post and the great laugh...Now I have to get out of this coffeeshop so I can get undressed! ;)

  21. What did Mark Twain write?

Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.

You do love your provocative titles, don't you? My young hero, Victor Standish, made me come here. Though his very proper Victorian ghoul friend (a hard combination to pull off, by the way) covered his eyes when we got here.

Here it is quite cold. Not wearing warm clothes are not an option. Still, I have my uniform : black T-shirt, jeans, and hiking boots. I am sort of an anti-Chippindale dance : girls pay me to put clothes on! LOL. Have a great end of week, Roland

  22. omg--you and TamiHart... :D I hear ya, though. Working at home makes me lurv comfy clothing... But I still love my jeans--but they're comfy jeans. I bet you look sweet in your little dresses~ :D

  23. Love: Short shorts, camisoles, tank tops, flip flops.

    Like: Jeans, t-shirts.

    Dislike: Everything else.

Needless to say, I don't do well in winter. :) I usually freeze.

  24. I hate wearing clothes too. I think if I ever lived alone... well, happy thoughts.

  25. Ha ha ha! I don't necessarily enjoy being naked, but I'm with you on the soft, baggy clothes. If I could live in my pajamas and sweats, soft socks and slippers, I'd be in heaven. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I like wearing clothes, actually--as long as they're not scratchy or stiff. I don't like shoes or socks inside, though.

  27. Only solution I can see is to move somewhere tropical and go naked. Problem solved!

  28. Okay, so I'm sitting here at WORK in my jeans that are about to make me puke because I'm so FAT, because of all the girl scout cookies I've eaten! Dreaming about being home in my comfy sweats. So thanks for that, ha ha.

If I had my way, I'd spend all winter in sweats and my snuggie, with my fuzzy slippers, and all summer in yoga pants and a t-shirt.

But I have to wear socks. I have these spastic small toes and if I don't wear socks they go crazy. (I know it's strange.) I wear socks 24 hours a day. I can only wear sandals that have straps that come over my little toes.

  29. I'm afraid I do like clothes. They keep me warm in the winter, and keep me from sticking to the leather sofa in the summer. ;)

  30. I like pajama-type clothes. I said I'd never be *that* lady but I officially am. I hate getting dressed.

    ReplyDelete
  31. This is something I can get behind. Clothes suck! Pajamas are the way forward at all times. Mainly because when someone asks you do something you can look sheepishly and say "but I am already in my pajamas...". Works every time :P

    ReplyDelete
  32. I hear ya! When I get home from work, the first thing I do is change into my pajamas or sweats. If I don't go to work, I can usually be found in my pajamas. I can never have enough comfy clothes!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I hate clothes too! I live in outfits most people only wear to yoga class. Though, I do love high heeled shoes. Don't worry though, I don't wear high heels with my yoga clothes...very often ;)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I LOATHE tights. Just the thought of pulling them on makes my skin crawl. Ick!

I love flowy dresses. They are definitely my clothing of choice.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hee hee. I have to have clothes. I'm neurotic about it. I love tight shirts that hug me in. I guess I'm strange that way. =)

  36. That's a lot of hate. It reminded me of the last writer's conference I attended. There was a workshop on costumes and the lady said, (she specializes in sewing them) that only in recent times were clothes comfortable. So perhaps you could think of yourself as Lady Godiva, the original one, rings on her fingers and bells on her toes...LOL

  39. I like comfortable clothes for sure when I'm sitting around, but I don't mind looking cute (and maybe being a little uncomfortable) when I'm out and about.

If I were home all the time, I'd be in P.J.'s 24/7 though!

  40. I love casual attire. It has to be soft, away from my neck and not clingy.

In the summer I slop around in a shirt like, cotton top. longish and loose.

Shoes, I hate shoes. Love it when my feet are free.

  41. Speaking for all of the men of the world...less clothes means more nakedness. And more nakedness ROCKS! :)

  42. I like clothes and love jersey, too! I love to hide my flabs, you see. Hahaha!
