Yep, the Allomorph has finally exposed herself on video ...

So, remember how I had the Steinbeck Festival thing last weekend on Ithaca? Here's the video I made for it. The wind wasn't our friend that day, but I think we did a pretty decent job considering ...

Have you ever read this book? What did you think of it? If not, have you ever read the original Odyssey by Homer? I have tried, I really have, but I just don't have the patience for it. That's not very "literary" of me, is it! :o)

  1. Well done, you did great job. Not sure that a dislike of Steinbeck makes you lacking in any way. The work is dated, which puts some people off.

    2. I missed the start of the clip due to cat interference - so I missed the introduction. Instead of going back to the start, I guessed lol - that'll teach me to try to be clever!

  3. There are times when it seems like you're not human, but are some supernatural creature who projects to us from paradise. :)

I've read Steinbeck and Homer, but not since school.

  4. I've read both the Iliad and Odyssey in the long form, though in translation of course. It was tough in places, but also rewarding.

  6. I think I've looked at The Odyssey before but isn't it in some kind of poem format? I gave up before I tried. lol I've read Hiawatha though...in fourth grade. lol I was bored. I remember liking it but now that I'm older, I'm not sure how much I absorbed.
Wish I could see your video but I have to browse with my add-ons off. Hope you had fun at the festival. :-)

  7. I'm a mythology nerd, so I've read The Iliad and The Odyssey. I haven't read "The Lost Book of the Odyssey," but I definitely want to now that I heard your excerpt.

Your voice brings out the magical feel that Homer initially tried to convey. You should record yourself reading Homer's work and I bet you'll get through it just by hearing it through your melodic voice. :)
