This band used to be heard on the radio quite often when I'd play tennis against the garage wall in my backyard. I must have been about 14, on the cusp of losing my innocence. I remember the radio being on because my father was probably doing some crap to his old VW beetle in the garage. Like collecting parts that he could never use because his newer beetle was a different model. Never stopped him from playing around though! :o) This band reminds me of a time when I didn't associate music with business or creation or my future, but with simple thoughts and memories of my environment and what I liked to do for fun.
Charlotte is a very new love of mine and had to get a mention. Each song of hers should be framed and exhibited in a gallery. If only the colours in her songs were visible. Have a listen.
Do you know any musicians whose music could paint colours on your bedroom wall? Do tell!
Don't forget to drop by Dawn Ius' blog, my partner in crime, to see her music pick for G.

REMEMBER! During the challenge, I will choose a random commenter every two days, to receive a free download of one of my albums. Your choice! That's thirteen winners. How does that sound? Tell your friends! Just comment for a chance to win.

ReplyDeleteI guess if I'd ever done drugs and listened to Pink Floyd that would've probably paint my walls a multitude of colors.

ReplyDeleteOh, I love this song by Charlotte Gainsbourg! Thanks for introducing her to me! One recent song that paints a picture for me with its music is One Eskimo's "Amazing". This song is one of the loveliest I've heard in a long time.

Ah Goo Goo Dolls... still loved. I am sure there many artists who could paint colours on my walls, but your question reminded me of a darker quote from one of my fave bands, Our Lady Peace: "Hey, is anybody home, Has anybody painted fear On the bedroom walls that save us from...".
ReplyDeleteThanks for introducing me to Charlotte Gainsbourg! I'm here from the A to Z Challenge and I'm glad I am.
ReplyDeleteOne of the Goo Goo Dolls' songs that I've been OBSESSED with lately is "Lazy Eye"...omg, it rocks so much!
