Short post today as I'm hot and bothered, have too much work to do before I go on holiday, and am itching to get responses from ten awesome authors to write little blurbs for my cover of String Bridge
. (oh look! I used an Oxford comma. Sorry folks, I'm afraid I'm not going to kick the habit.)
Anyway, I'm not going to reveal who I've asked, but I will say that if even ONE of them says yes, I will be so excited I might deafen myself from my own scream.
So let me ask you this: who would you DREAM to have write a blurb for the cover of your debut?
Gregory Clark, but unfortuantely, he's dead and buried. His work, however, lives on. Have you ever read Greg Clarks short stories?ReplyDelete
I dream of having Beth Harbison or Emily Giffin drop a blurb for my book. It would be the perfect day.ReplyDelete
I'm not going to say who I really want, because I don't want to jinx it, but I'll say Johnathan Stroud, because that would never happen and therefore can't be jinxed.ReplyDelete
The DREAM would be JK Rowling or Stephen King... or maybe on the YA Stuff Susanne Collins... but I find it all pretty intimidating! Good luck with getting yeses!ReplyDelete
Timothy Zhan! Douglas Preston or Lincoln Child would be even better, but they don't write science fiction.ReplyDelete
Hope you get ten great responses!
Oh, Jess, good luck with that. I have no clue which famous folks I'd want.ReplyDelete
When I was writing my poetry book three years ago I happened to mention it to Daniel O Donnell my favourite singer(I had previously did charity poetry postcards for him)He offered to write something on the cover I all to quickly said yes and there it is for all to see.ReplyDelete
Hope you're lucky Jessica.
Hm... hard to say, really! Sophie Kinsella? Maybe?ReplyDelete
That's an easy one for me: JAMES DASHNER! or Brandon Mull. *sigh*ReplyDelete
Ha! I am so far from this right now that I don't know who I'd ask. Part of me fears they won't even be alive by the time I finish my book. :)ReplyDelete
hmm, ok, after some thought and going with the MS i'm querying, i would choose Paolo Bacigalupi. Yep, that would workReplyDelete
Well, it can't be my debut, writing book five, but I'd love to have Ann Fine, the children's author, write a review!!ReplyDelete
Best of luck with the blurb!ReplyDelete
That's an easy question. Definitely number one on my list is Kristin Cashore, author of Graceling. I write high fantasy, like her, and I adore her books.
Hi, IF I wrote a book, I would want someone like Janet Evanovich or James Patterson to write a blurb for it. Or maybe I could get Alex Cavanaugh to write one for it. :)ReplyDelete
Oh this is a wonderful question! Off the top of my head, I'd say Liz Curtis Higgs, Jody Hedlund, and James Scott Bell. I am sure I can think of others...ReplyDelete
Hope your dream authors come through for you! :)
A fifth grade class, great things come from small minds. And here in KY hot and bothered has nothing to do with books or writing. :)ReplyDelete
Jules @ Trying To Get Over The Rainbow
I was able to get my dream blurber. Wheeee! :DReplyDelete
I’m actually not a big fan of blurbs like that. They do nothing to persuade me to buy a book and clutter up perfectly good covers. Also most everyone I would have picked is dead. But, if pressed, a wee comment from Sir Terry Pratchett wouldn’t exactly upset me.ReplyDelete
