Happy New Year, Everyone!!!

If you're friends with me on Facebook you'll know that I made a pact to write a poem per day in 2011. If you're interested in joining the Poetry Pact 2011 group (invite only - all work posted is not visible to the public), CLICK HERE! We already have 37 members!

This means I have to get in touch with my time management skills this year. I'm only going to post four days a week instead of five from now on, so Monday-Thursday, it'll be.

This is what I have to work on fitting into my day until the end of February:
  • Write a poem for Poetry Pact 2011, and feedback on others' work.
  • Revise a minimum of four pages of String Bridge a day to meet March 1st deadline
  • Write blog post and/or comment on blogs (depending on day)
  • Do a minimum of 6 hours English Language Teaching editing/writing in order to remain financially on top of all payments and save to go to the USA next year for my book launch
  • Beta read manuscripts for two of my blogging buddies
*Cough* Somewhere in all of that I need to cook, clean, walk the dog, eat, and erm ... and oh yeah! sleep. Um, hmm, I think I've forgotten something ... stupid me, almost forgot I had a man in my life. Yeah, I'd better find some time for him too. ;o)

Hope you're all having a wonderful beginning to your New Year!

  2. Brave! A poem a day! If I attempted that I think I'd die. Spontaneous writer combustion. Luckily, writers are half-made of paper, so we go up very quick.

    But I'm going to try to write a flash fiction story every other week, and revise novels, and hopefully rewrite another, and then write a new one, and, you know, get a publishing deal. Easy peasy!

  9. Wow, that's a big list! I signed up for the FB poem page, and I read the blurb for your upcoming novel. I'm excited to read a non-stereotypical woman's fiction.

    Good luck with getting everything done. Looks like you'll be busy for a while!

    cheers, Jenn

  10. Cripes, a poem a day? That is one serious NY resolution! So, good luck with it! Sounds a bit of a juggling act, but that's how my life is too, and actually I think busy people are more organised and get more done, no faffing around and over-thinking, it's a "just do it" mentality!
    oh, Happy 2011!

  12. 2011 is going to be a busy, crazy, fun ride. Can't wait to share lots of creative craziness with you! As for the border around your new siggy, that problem comes with your blog template. Some templates allow seamless, border-less images, but not all. I'll bet there's a way to eliminate it in the coding, but I couldn't begin to direct you to where it might be.

    If I stumble across the answer, I'll definitely let you know!

    ((hugs))

  14. Hey Jessica! Listen, I've been hunting around for a solution to your problem with the green border around your signature. Try this:

    From your dashboard, click "Design." Then click "Edit HTML." You'll see the coding for your template in the big box. Click CTL + F, and a search box will pop up. Type the following in the box: fieldset, img {

    This will show you where in the coding to find these words. In my coding, it says:

    }
    fieldset, img {
    border: 0;

    If you have something like this in your coding, but with a value in place of 0, try changing the number to zero and preview, to see if it solves your problem. If the border doesn't disappear, don't save changes. Just click "Dashboard" again to get out of the edit screen with no changes to your blog.

    Let me know what happens!
    ((hugs)) Nicole
