#AtoZChallenge: Dead Star

This band is Australian, and friends of the family. Catchy tunes, great lyrics, the perfect blend of pop and rock. Thriving with enough emotion to be moved by their songs, and enough energy and quirk to get up and dance. Perfect for the pub on a Friday night. Perfect for a pick-me-up after work, with a glass of beer in your back yard. Perfect for a lot of stuff really. Such as offering inspiration to get creative ...

Have you got any "all-purpose" favourite musicians?

Don't forget to drop by Dawn Ius' blog, my partner in crime, to see her music pick for D.

REMEMBER! During the challenge, I will choose a random commenter every two days, to receive a free download of one of my albums. Your choice! That's thirteen winners. How does that sound? Tell your friends! Just comment for a chance to win.

  1. Thanks to A to Z, this is the second song I'm downloading this morning!

  2. That must be cool to know so many musicians, Jessica.

  3. I don't think your music and my music could dance together. I LOve being introduced to new music and new musicians.

  4. My word for today should be Dim-witted.

  5. I have never heard of them before, but I like their music. :) Thanks for the introduction, Jessica! As far as my "all-purpose" favorite musicians, I have two: OneRepublic and Bob Marley. <3

  6. I really like this. I hear vague shades of ZZ Top in the fast bass.

  7. I listened to the music. I really loved the tune.

  8. I'm back to drawing a blank, but I'm still creating an awesome playlist! :)

  10. I always liked Meo 245 I have an LP of their's somewhere from way back. there was a lot of good Aussie music in the early 80's.

just passing through from the A to Z ....

    My typing is rubbish

  11. Great sound. Kind of a retro-pop thing similar to the Cranberries. So far "The Girl Who Fell" is my favorite of yours.
    - Maurice Mitchell
    The Geek Twins
    Film Sketchr

  12. Not a bad band at all. There are many cool bands that come out of Aussie land, and I am thankful for them. My all tive fave has to still be AC/DC. lol That's old school, but old cool!

  13. I've never heard of them. They sound good. Thanks for sharing.

  14. I'm a die-hard Weezer fan, but Coldplay on my pandora is usually a good universal station. I'm also really into the Christina Perry station.

    Visiting from A to Z.

  15. I love all kinds of music but not any band in particular. Great post and music.

  16. I don't have an "all-purpose" recording artist, although my favorites include Muse, Midnight Syndicate, classic Journey, and the Alan Parsons Project.

    Ellie's Blank Book
    Ellie's Couch
    Help Michigan Pets

  17. My favourite Deadstar song is "Sex Sell", but then I don't know that many!
