Calling for poetry experts!

  1. I am absolutely the wrong person to volunteer, because when it comes to poetry, I decide if I like it or not. I don't know any of the rules.
But I am sure someone will turn up. And, all the best.

  2. Sorry. Whatever the opposite of a poetry expert is, that is me.

  3. I'm no expert but I love poetry. When would you need feedback by? I'm too busy this coming week but I can help after that if it won't be too late.

  4. I'm with Ted. The only poetry I read are the ones you find in rhyming picture books. Most of the time I don't even understand poetry . . . which made English in HS tough. ;)

  5. As you know I write poetry but to being an expert I wouldn't like to say,
I write what and how I feel and mostly about my life's expereiences.
If you think I could help I would gladly be of service to you.

    Yvonne.

  7. Been a long time since I looked at poetry. I'm sure you'll find someone awesome to crit it for you though. If not, I'll brush up and take a look for you. :)

  8. I wish I was a poetry expert so I could help you. I know what I like, but I don't know the rules or how to judge what makes a poem great. I'd be happy to read your poems though - and will especially cheer for you to win a chap book poetry contest!

  9. I'm super-supportive of your expressing yourself through verse and all... But I'm Major Sucko when it comes to evaluating poetry. :p

But good work! (Me doing the little two thumbs up gesture... ;o)

  10. Dude, I know as much about poetry as I do about repairing cars. Which is nothing. Sorry. :(

  11. Good luck!! I can't offer any help...I have no clue about poetry, other than if I like how it sounds or not. I have lots of poet friends and as beautiful as it is most of the time, a lot of it is so abstract that it just goes completely over my head!! LOL!

  12. Don't know how to write poetry. But have fun with it. And have a great weekend!

  13. Ooh, I love poetry. I hope you'll post some on your blog. Oh, hi. I'm new here. Found you through Lindsay's blog. Looking forward to the poetry!

  14. Awesome.
There are no rules in poetry. That's my feeling.

I too play the guitar and write songs. That stuff is mostly just for me though.

Hey, maybe you'll throw one of them up for us sometime?

  15. Good luck finding an expert! I wish you luck with it. I've always enjoyed your poems but I know nothing... Should you decide you need a beta for limericks for a Lewd and Baudy collection, I'm your woman!

  18. I write poetry but do not follow any rules, so cannot cast an expert eye. You do well enough, I enjoy your work Jessica.

  19. I wish I could say "YES I'LL DO IT" but though I totally would I'm no expert by any measure (unless you're writing haiku, I can just about count to 7, thank god...), certainly not by poetic measure (I had recurring nightmares about iambic pentameter when our English teacher tried to explain it...).

I would refer you to my new Poetic License meet&greet bloghop but there's only two entries so far (not counting me) so that won't be much help, I don't think.

ps. I think it's fairly trendy not to follow rules in poetry... ; P
