Work schedule = 60 hrs per week (So I bought myself a present)

I'm working like a dog. I am also running out of space on my cluttered desk as I need to use two computers to be able to see and type into multiple documents at once, and I also need to lay out in front of me two sets of A3 layout proofs. I'm cramped. And getting snarky. And yelling at someone who invisibly lurks in my office. Don't ask me who they are. But they volunteered to be my oral punching bag. So. Anyway. I thought I deserved a little prize for being such a hardworking non-complaining sport (except on my blog and to my invisible friend).  I bought myself some stuff to make my working experience that little bit more comfortable.
Check it out!

Cool new soft chair, a desk extension and a set of drawers. They arrive tomorrow, so I'll take a before and after pic of my office for you to see the transformation!

Don't forget about my CONTEST!

  1. Poor you! 60 h/w is almost inhuman - you must be Superwoman:)

I like that new chair, though. I want to try it:)

  3. Hey, as I recall from the pic you posted of your workspace, you have a single monitor setup, right? Having a multi-monitor (several screens one computer) set up might simplify work for you.

I have a dual monitor set up both at home and at work and I'd hate going back to a single screen.

  4. Buying another screen means more money! I already own a laptop and a netbook, so for now those will have to do! :o) One day I'll set up the dual screen. I've definitely thought about it!!!!

  5. You already have a screen though, right? I recall seeing a desktop puter in those pics... Didn't I?
In which case you can plug that screen into your laptop and work from that. If you don't like the laptop's keyboard (I know I usually don't), you can plug your keyboard (and mouse) into your laptop too.
You might run out of usb ports but a small usb hub won't set you back much. Less than 10€.

  17. I lust for that new chair.

60 hours a week? Are you trying for a nervous, physical breakdown?

I do about the same, but much of that is on the road -- and that helps me from going crazy -- unless it's night, and my eyes tell me that since it's dark, it will be all right if I close them just for a minute.

Pace yourself. And please tell me that this 60 hours will not be a permanent fixture in your work life. Roland
